I have always adored the look of tomato pin cushions. A friend looked up their history and she wrote me: Since tomatoes were given as a gift to someone with a new home to wish them prosperity and luck, wouldn't this fabric make a wonderful symbolic choice for a quilt or other gift that is being given for a similar reason?
